school resume on september 22

The Federal Government has directed all schools in the country to resume on September 22.
The announcement was made after an emergency meeting in Abuja on Friday, by the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau, who said all public and private schools in the country should resume on 22 September.
Shekarau said all federal government colleges should also adhere to the new resumption date, and said measures put in place to curb the spread of Ebola are still intact.
The minister added that any Ministry of Education in the 36 states that has not appointed desk officers on Ebola should do that before the resumption.
He added that the ministries should ensure that at least two staff in each school – both public and private — are trained by appropriate health workers on how to handle any suspected case of Ebola.
He added that they should embark on immediate sensitization of teaching and non-teaching staff in schools on preventive measures.
In the new review, private and public schools are to resume, not October 13 as earlier announced. The October schedule was to curtail the spread of Ebola in Nigeria where six people have died of the virus.
Proprietors of private schools had complained about the October date, and had urged the government to consider early resumption.

Lil Wayne is HIV positive

ATLANTA NEWS – New Orleans rapper “Lil Wayne” has just publicly admitted to have tested positive for HIV Thursday morning. The rapper tweeted the message to his fans on his official Twitter account; see tweet below:

It is still unknown if Lil Wayne contracted the infection through sexual intercourse or simply blood contact with another infected individual, Although, it is speculated that the infection was spreaded through sex.
Lil Wayne is not the first celebrity known to have HIV or an STD. Perhaps, the most widely known HIV victim is former NBA champion and legend Magic Johnson, who has become the center of internet memes and jokes, will Lil Wayne become the center of jokes as well? We’ll have to wait and see.

Liberians are bringing Ebola patient to Nigeria hospitals

The death of two yet-to-be identified patients who were allegedly sypmtomatic of the Ebola virus at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi- Araba, and Jibowu bus station on yesterday and Monday, respectively, has again given cause for concern over the spread of the virus in the state.
While another victim from Liberia died on board a loading Kaduna-bound bus, yesterday's incident was said to have occurred at the premises of LUTH after the said victim was rushed in by the Port Health Services.
According to reports, the deceased who died at LUTH was first rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital where he was put on high index suspicion due to the symptoms he exhibited like high temperature, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Before he could be rushed to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Yaba for a blood test, he was said to have started vomiting blood and died a few hours later.
Sources said although the hospital was yet to ascertain if he had Ebola, investigations had begun.
Despite repeated attempts to reach the Public Relations Officer of LUTH, Mrs. Hope Nwawolo, she did not take her calls nor did she return them. Subsequent text messages to her phone hours later were not answered.
But in an earlier interview with THISDAY, Nwawolo had said the hospital was equipped in the eventuality that it got such patients.
According to her, the hospital had gone a step further to train its medical personnel and caregivers on what to look out for when treating patients, as well as measures of prevention
