Joan Rivers is due to be laid to rest this weekend in New York.
The acerbic comedian and Fashion Police presenter, 81, died in hospital this afternoon, one week after suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest during a medical procedure.
Rivers had been on life support at the hospital but recent days had been moved from intensive care to a private room to allow her to be ‘kept comfortable’.

Rivers had been admitted to New York’s Mt. Sinai hospital after she stopped breathing during a Aug. 28 procedure on her vocal cords at a New York clinic and was placed in a medically induced coma to assess her condition.
