MH17: First Malaysian bodies to arrive home today

The bodies of 20 Malaysian victims of Flight MH17 that crashed in Ukraine in July are due to arrive in Kuala Lumpur, as the nation holds a day of mourning.
A specially chartered plane took off from Amsterdam and is expected to land at about 10:00 local time (02:00 GMT).
National flags will be flying at half-mast across the country and a minute of silence will be observed.
Flight MH17 is believed to have been shot down by a missile fired by pro-Russian rebels. They deny the claim.
All 298 passengers and crew on board the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 died on 17 July.

Debris from MH17 was scattered across 35 sq km (13 sq miles) of territory held by pro-Russian rebels

Investigation hampered

At Kuala Lumpur airport, the plane from the Netherlands is expected to be met by senior Malaysian government officials.
The caskets will be unloaded and put in hearses by military personnel. The bodies will then be given to the victims’ relatives to be laid to rest.
This is the first time Malaysia is holding a national day of mourning for civilian victims.
The honour has traditionally been accorded only to the royal family and heads of government.
Of those on board Flight MH17, 43 were Malaysian nationals.
So far 28 Malaysian victims have been identified in the Netherlands, which is leading an international investigation into the crash in eastern Ukraine.
More than 200 coffins with remains of the victims have so far been taken to the Netherlands.
But the inquiry is being hampered by continuing fighting between Ukrainian government troops and pro-Russian rebels near the crash site.

You Can Beat Germany, Jonathan Tells Gallant Falconets

Abuja — PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigeria's U-20 female football team, Falconets, to do Nigeria proud by winning the ongoing FIFA tournament for the first time by beating their German counterparts on Sunday.

Abati noted: "As the Falconets prepare for the final match of the tournament against Germany on Sunday, President Jonathan urges them to put in their very best effort to win the U-20 Female World Cup for Nigeria and Africa for the first time in the history of the competition.
"He assures the girls and their handlers of the full support of the Federal Government and the prayers of all Nigerians for their triumph on Sunday."

I was offered N30,000 for human head —Suspect

LAGOS — Operatives of  the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Lagos have smashed a syndicate that specialised in selling human parts, arresting three of its  members.

The suspects are two popular herbalists in Sagamu area and a mother of two whose husband was alleged to be a supplier of the human parts.

Recovered from the suspects were two human skulls suspected to have been procured from a graveyard.
Their arrest, according to Police sources, followed an intelligence report received by the Lagos State Police Command on activities of human parts dealers, which made the Commander SARS, Abba Kyari, to embark on a manhunt, that led to the arrest of the three suspects, Mustapha Muritala, Sunday Oluyeba and Adenike Olanrewaju, with others still at large in Ojumerin area of Sagamu, Ogun State.

Suspects’ account

During interrogation, 42-year-old Murtala said he ventured into the business two years ago following an offer of N30,000 for a human skull.
According to the father of one, “I am a herbalist from Sagamu, Ogun State. I was introduced to human parts business by one Sunday Oluyeba I knew through my friends, Olanipekun and Kazim, three years ago.
“My friends asked me to get  native birds called eyeoshi and eyeoke, and I succeeded in getting them. They later came and requested a human head with an offer of N30,000. They said they wanted to use it to prepare concoction for a pregnant woman in labour .
“They told me they also use human parts to prepare concoction for women who have difficulty in getting pregnant. What they do is to grind the human skull, mix it with water and give to the woman to drink. Such concoction cleanses the stomach, after which she would become pregnant.
“Sunday brought the human head and I paid him N15,000 for it. This is the second time I am buying a human skull from him. I do not know where he got them from.”
How I was arrested
“I was going about my herbal business when a man came and demanded human skull. As I handed the nylon where I kept it to him, some men I later discovered to be policemen swooped on me. I have never killed anyone in my life.”

After his arrest, he was made to put a call across to his  partner in crime, Oluyeba, demanding a human head. Oluleba could not make it but instructed one of his herbalist friends,Baba Beji, to go for the supply. He was arrested when he got there.
His confessional statement led operatives to another suspect in Sagamu. The suspect, Juwon Olarewaju, another herbalist, reportedly fled on sighting the policemen but his wife was arrested instead.
Mrs Olarewaju, 34, in her statement to operatives, expressed shock over the sales of human parts by her husband.
According to her, “I have been married to Juwon  for five years and we have two children. My husband is a herbalist but I didn’t know he was dealing in human parts. I was arrested in my house at about 2am over the weekend. I swear, I didn’t know anything about all these. I was arrested because my husband whom they came to arrest ran away.
“These people implicated my husband in the matter; they said my husband supplied them with a human head.”
The suspects, as gathered, would be charged to court soon.

Nigeria 6-2 Korea

Asisat Oshoala scored four goals as the Nigeria Falconets beat North Korea 6-2 in the semi-finals of the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Moncton in Canada.
Oshoala took her goal tally in the tournament in Canada to seven, with four fantastic goals..
Courtney Dike got Nigeria off to the perfect start when she put the Falconets ahead just sixty-four seconds into the game.
Korea were shocked into action by conceding so early, and for most of the opening twenty minutes they controlled possession trying to find an equaliser, with the Falconets content to use their pace on the counter.
Korea were left to attempt long range attempts but were unable to hit the target.
Asisat Oshoala made it 2-0 to the Falconets on one of those counter attacks, breaking free in the 23rd minute, after disposessing a defender on the halfway line. She charged into the Korean half, rounded the keeper, and poked the ball home.
Five minutes later a defensive slip almost saw the Falconets make it three, but this time Dike shot over the goal.
Korea got back into the game on the half hour mark when Ri Un Sim ran onto a good long ball into the box and made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
In the 34th minute Oshoala went on another charging run down the right, and went down in the box, but the referee waved play on.
Korea continued to try play long balls into the box, looking for the equaliser, but despite a last minute goal mouth clearance, were unable to find it by half-time.
Dike almost started the second half just like the first, but a great one-handed save by Korean goalkeeper Kim Chol Ok denied her and Nigeria another goal.
In the 55th minute, with her first touch of the ball after replacing Dike, super sub Uchechi Sunday made it 3-1 when she reached Oshoala's cross to score her third goal of the tournament, from close range.
The best was yet to come though, in the 59th minute Ashoala got her second and Nigeria's fourth with a wonderful goal from the edge of the area, after a good run forward. 4-1
Two minutes later though, Korea were awarded a penalty for a handball by Ugo Nkoju, and Jon made no mistake from the spot to make it 4-2.
In the 68th minute Oshoala put it beyond doubt, as she completed her hat-trick, with another quality individual goal, controlling well as she broke into the box and beat the keeper. 5-2.
Sunday almost had her second in the 72nd minute but Chol Ok made an excellent save to deny her powerful shot.
In the end the Falconets proved too powerful for the Koreans, and Oshoala wrapped up the result, pouncing on a defensive error to poke the ball home past a helpless Chol Ok, to make it 6-2 in the 85th minute.
Falconets Starters: Chiichii; Njoku, Nnodim, Abasi, Okoye; Igbinovia, Halimatu, Oshoala; Ihezuo, Courtney, Ayila

(Gay) Notorious B.I.G.’s Son Proposes to his Boyfriend

The son of the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. is engaged to be married to his longtime boyfriend Jason Wertz. According to a source connected to the family, Christopher Wallace Jr., who goes by CJ, dropped to one knee in front of friends and family and asked Wertz to be his husband.
The couple first met freshman year of high school and have been inseparable ever since. CJ first revealed their relationship after his high school graduation earlier this year. The rap legend’s son posted a photograph on the social network
Instagram
, which showed himself and Wertz locked tight in a warm embrace.

The source says everyone is extremely supportive of CJ and his decision to take the next step in his life.
That support stops with former Junior M.A.F.I.A. rapper Chico Del Vec, who was extremely critical of Biggie’s son in a recent
FaceBook
post. “I was talking the truth about n*ggas,” he said of his Facebook post. “I said something about CJ, Big’s son. He gay. Nigga gay…After I seen this little footage sh*t, I was mad.”

He also stated that had his son posted a photograph of the sort he would,”whoop his ass.”
“My son not gon’ hug you from the back talking about ‘Graduation happy.’ Look at this sh*t? Look. Do this look suspect, man or what…That’s gay. That’s gay all the way,” Del Vec stated.
Magic Johnson’s openly gay son, EJ, offered his support for CJ from his
Twitter
account. “Yaaaaasssss Miss CJ, you better do that,” he wrote.

Nigeria Cruise Into Fifa U20 World Cup Final

President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Aminu Maigari on Tuesday said the U-20 Women National Team, Falconets will qualify to play at the final of the ongoing FIFA U20 Women World Cup in Canada.
Following their easy 4-1 dismissal of New Zealand in the quarter final on Sunday, the Falconets clash with pacy North Korea at the Moncton Stadium, Moncton on Wednesday evening, in the first semi final.
"I have watched all the matches played by the girls since the championship started, and I am greatly delighted at the manner they have taken it one match at a time.
"The North Koreans are a leading powerhouse in women's football in the world, but so are our girls. This tournament has shown the prowess and skills of our girls. I am truly impressed and I know they have what it takes to reach the final."
Four years ago, Maigari was with the Falconets in Germany as they flew all the way to the final, before losing 0-2 to the host nation to finish with the silver medals.
"I believe that this time, our girls will not be content with reaching the final. Yes, they still have the semi final to play, but I know that once they conquer the Koreans, their eyes will be on the trophy."
Victory over the North Koreans on Wednesday will reward the Falconets with a final against either Germany or France, at Montreal's fabulous all-cover Olympic Stadium, on Sunday.
